Want to know the story of "SpongeVideos / SquarePants Media" and "The Pineapple House"? Then read this page.
SpongeVideos / SquarePants Media History
Okay, lets start off with this site first.
You may have heard of "SpongyMedia", it was a great site with audio and video downloads. Later, on SBMania, the owner announced that he was closing the site.... for good! That made me think "what if I made a similar site to SpongyMedia so people could still download videos and music."
Here's my post on SBMania....
"I have many SpongeBob videos for people to download. Hey! What if I do "SpongyVideo"? It'll be the ultimate place to download video clips of songs and parts of episodes. (I'd love to allow people to download full-length episodes but thats illegal, right?)
Too bad SpongyMedia closed!"
So, May 4th 2006 was the day this website was released on the internet.
You may not know this, but the name "SpongeVideos" actually came from the name "SpongyMedia." I was thinking of calling it "SpongyVideo", but that was a bit too similar.
So then, the first videos and music were added to the website. After the first SpongeBob videos and music was added to the site, The Fairly OddParents music and videos were added, since I was also a Fairly OddParents fan. That technically made this a SpongeBob & Fairly OddParents fansite (but more of SpongeBob.) An Invisionfree Forum was also made for this website, however it's not very popular. Later, in June, the site had a little bit of a name change. On Jume 20th, 2006 (I think), the website name changed to "SquarePants Media." However, it is still also called "SpongeVideos."
This site once also gave links to SpongeBob YouTube Videos, those were deleted now, however.
Later on in 2006, the site grew and more music and videos were added. However, later on, The Fairly OddParents videos and music were deleted, because I wanted this just to be a SpongeBob fansite. After that, to avoid copyright infringement, I deleted all SpongeBob videos and music, since I didn't want to be sued. The other option was delete this website, and I didn't want this site to be deleted.
However, around early 2007, transcripts were added to this site. They were also added to "The Pineapple House."
But.... after the birth of "The Pineapple House", very little updates were added to this site. However, the fan fic "The SpongeBob Timmy Power Hour" and "Play Piano Game" were added to this site. I may also add my upcoming fanfic "Mr. SquarePants' Holiday" to this site.
Since 2008, I realised that out of the 3 websites I made, this was the most successful. That's why I decided to update this website more, so you may have noticed new features on the homepage and new stuff on other pages too. Perhaps even new pages.
The Pineapple House History
The thought of "The Pineapple House" started in early 2007. I was thinking about making another SpongeBob fansite for fanfics and transcripts. One of the original names for the website was "Tales from The Pineapple", but that was too similar to "Tales from Bikini Bottom." It was originally planned to be released in February 2007, it got delayed and I then planned to not make it.
However, something changed mine and it was created on May 8th 2007 (4 days after SpongeVideos' first birthday.) However, I did not tell people about it until 10th May 2007, so I could add a few fanfics and pages to it. For some reason, on "SBR Topsites", it seems to be a bigger hit than this website.
This is the website's logo - http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/1993/pineapplehouse1lk0.gif
It contains fanfics such as "The Perfect Pet" and "The SpongeBob Timmy Power Hour." It also has transcripts of "Ripped Pants", "Reef Blowers" and "Best Day Ever." It also contains transcripts of the Best Day Ever Shorts.
Like this website, it has a forum and guestbook. It also contains a chatroom and guestbook. Also it has a "Cast your Vote Section." I also added a topsites during the summer of 2007.
Pages like "Songs" and "SpongeBob Quiz" were added. It is also probably the only website on the internet that teaches you how to play the first two verses and the chorous of "Best Day Ever" on the piano.
The last big fanfic that was added to the website was in October 2007, and that was "She Came From Texas." A short fanfic was added to the website in January 2008 called "The Origin of Pablo Dolphin." The next fanfic will be "Mr. SquarePants' Holiday", which is a fanfic movie. It started on November 3rd, 2007 and isn't even halfway finished yet. So it'll be a while before it gets released on the website.
Also, on December 22nd, 2007, a Hebrew translation of the website was released (http://www.pineapplehousehebrew.bravehost.com.) Translated by SBMania member 1620050. A German version of the website also opened during early 2008.
Well, that's the story!
UPDATE - Throughout the later years of "The Pineapple House", I noticed that it was not attracting as many viewers as this website was. SpongeVideos to this day attracts around 1,200 people a month, while The Pineapple House attracted around 30 or 40 people. I kept it open for the time being, but eventually decided it would be better to close the website and move its content over here (after all, it was probably better to operate just 1 SpongeBob fansite instead of 2.) Most of its content was succesfully moved, except the fanfics, though I'm hoping to get them on here someday.
The English version of The Pineapple House closed on March 6th, 2010, though the closure was formally announced during mid-February 2010. On that same day, the closure of The Pineapple House led some problems on the German website (e.g. images not working.) The website was disabled on that day to try to fix those errors without closing the German version. Unfortunately, those errors could not be fixed and the website officially closed on April 27th, 2010.
As of September 2011, I admit that I regret closing the website. Yet I have no plans to reopen it, as much of its content is now here, and its content has helped this website a lot. I have absolutely no plans to close this website, just so you know.
The Spanish and Hebrew versions of the website still continue to run this very day, and I have no plans to close those either.

Hey, it's me again, back after such a long time without a major update! Sorry about that, I've been quite busy lately!
Well, the first update of this website is that the blog is now the brand new homepage of this website. The old homepage was deleted. The reason was because I felt that a blog would be more useful as a homepage. It informs the user of any important updates on both the website and the show.
Speaking of important updates, I'm sure you're all by now familiar with the news of a SpongeBob Movie Sequel, expected to be released in theaters/cinemas late 2014. It has been confirmed that Stephen Hillenburg will help work on the movie, despite some fans worrying that he won't have any part in producing it. There hasn't been any news on the plot yet, which is likely to stay a secret for a while.
Secondly, a new special is going to be broadcasted in October, named "Hello Bikini Bottom". It apepars as if the episode is about SpongeBob and Squidward forming a band together. The episode certainly sounds interesting, and I certainly hope that there isn't much Squidward abuse in it (unless it's funny).

One of the first major updates in 2011! A new logo was introduced today, which I believe is much better than the old one used from 12th March, 2010 until today. This one is much bigger and does not repeat itself like the old one did. This is only part one of the updates, though, as a lot more is expected to arrive within the next month! Stay tuned!

This is the story of how I came to become the SpongeBob know-it-all I am today!
(The picture above does not display my complete collection, my room is only small, so a lot of it was placed in other rooms, or unfortunately got lost in the house somewhere.)
I guess I should date this back to 2003, when I first saw SpongeBob at 9 years old. It was during a holiday in Florida, and the first episodes I saw were "Gary Takes a Bath" and "No Free Rides". I didn't really think much of it then, because at that time, I just gained an obsession with The Fairly OddParents. I read some comics and saw some episodes, but thought it was just a regular cartoon. However, in 2004, I got my first Gameboy Advance Video episodes of SpongeBob, which was then when I started to realise that it was quickly becoming one of my favourite cartoons, and at the right time, too! As the SpongeBob Movie came out the following year in the UK.
In 2004, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, one of the symptoms is an intense interest in a certain subject - in my case, SpongeBob! During the end of 2004, I had a few stuff for the Gameboy Advance, one DVD, and the first annual. But during that time, I was constantly talking about it and watching it on TV, I remember seeing the show in France and looking at SpongeBob merchandise in Spain during 2004.
2005 saw a change in my SpongeBob fandomness, it was also the year when I first saw the movie on the big screen! I was watching the show nearly every day, and everybody (literally) knew I watched it. It was slowly becoming my obsession, I was watching it more, getting more items, and I even got the first issue of the SpongeBob Magazine UK, which I still collect to this very day. At the end of the year, I got the first 3 DVD Box Sets, which meant I could watch the show whenever I wanted, and whatever episode I wanted too!
2006 was when I became really obsessed with the show, people were literally getting tired of me talking about SpongeBob so much. I could name each episode and know every single quote from all of them, too! I first joined YouTube as "spongebobrocksman" that year, and uploaded SpongeBob clips and episodes online. Unfortunately, I did not understand copyright at 12 years old, so that account got suspended, and I made my 2nd account, "sbrocksman", which I still use to this very day. I joined "SpongeBuddy Mania", a forum for SpongeBob fans. It was there that I discovered an old website, "SpongyMedia", had closed, which gave me the idea to create "SpongeVideos", which has just celebrated its 5th anniversary! I started hanging SpongeBob posters around my bedroom, and drawing loads of SpongeBob pictures. In school, I made a wooden SpongeBob clock. My room was featured slightly on TV when they were discussing my Asperger's on a TV show, but no mention on the SpongeBob collection was made. Thanks to the internet, I managed to watch many episodes before their UK release, and I still do that today, also by ordering American SpongeBob DVDs which are released months before their UK release.
During early 2007, in school I made a giant stuffed SpongeBob, which can actually be seen in one of my YouTube videos. I was truly a Sponge-aholic, all my classmates and teachers knew I watched it (they still do, some mock me, but I don't care!) It was hard for me NOT to do something with out relating the little sponge in it some way or another. It was in 2007 when I went to Florida and got a photo with "SpongeBob", which was great. Besides just 2 days, I literally watched full episodes of the show every day, in fact, to this day, there hasn't been one single day where I haven't watched an episode since June 2007! Nearly four years! I was learning more about the show, and my collection was getting more and more bigger. It was at the end of the year when SpongeBob's first TV Movie aired, Atlantis SquarePantis. Although this episode got bad reviews, I loved it! One of the best episodes there is in my opinion! Also, in October 2007, my SpongeBob collection was featured in the SpongeBob Magazine!
2008 was very similar to 2007, a very spongy year. Season 6 had started, so I was watching that on TurboNick. I was still watching it every day, and I knew the quotes of more episodes than ever before! By then, I could tell people with ease the history of SpongeBob, all the little details of the show, the episode names etc. I'd seen the movie at least 10 to 15 times by then, I even knew the entire movie quote-by-quote. I don't know why I loved the show, there was just something different about it. My family went to California, and I begged them to go to California's Great America theme park because they had 2 SpongeBob rides and a Nickelodeon area, so we went there. I was wearing a SpongeBob T-Shirt at the entrance. There was a person in a SpongeBob costume greeting people at the entrance, and obviously they saw my shirt, because the first thing I saw when I entered the park was a big sponge running towards me for a hug! I also went on a SpongeBob boating ride and the SpongeBob 4D ride, and got my first photo with Patrick too, as well as getting more SpongeBob merchandise.
Where can I start with 2009? It was a pretty SpongeBob-filled year, if you ask me! With the show's 10th anniversary, there was loads happening this year. Of course, I saw all the specials including SpongeBob vs The Big One and Truth or Square. I remember seeing "The Sponge Who Could Fly - The Musical" on stage, which was my favourite musical in the theatre. I always still caught up on the latest episodes to see on the TV, usually I recorded them as I'm not usually able to watch the TV so much during the daytime, but I still watched plenty of SpongeBob on DVD. In July, there came the "SpongeBob SuperFan" competition. To me, that competition had my name written all over it! I entered the competition which I was sure could be a winner. That video started a web series I now created, "SpongePuppets", and if you want to see the video I entered for the competition, go on YouTube and enter "Squidward Gives a Tour of My Room." (I chose Squidward to give the tour since he hated SpongeBob, so it'd be so ironic that he gave the SpongeBob tour!) Unfortunately, I did not win. But if there ever comes another SuperFan competition, I'll be sure to enter it. I did my own celebration to the 10th anniversary, watch as much SpongeBob on DVD that I possibly could! Which led up to watching 2 full 20 minute episodes from each season.
In 2010, I officially started my "SpongePuppets" web series, which involved my SpongeBob toys in random adventures. I was given the nickname "SpongeBob" by many people (sometimes I wonder if they know my real name!), and by then, I usually had something SpongeBob-ish in every room in the house, be it cups, magazines, toys or DVDs. I went to Florida again, where I got another photo with SpongeBob and rode the Nicktoons ride. At that time and still presently, I usually had something SpongeBob-related on me. Be it a SpongeBob shirt, comics in my backpack, episodes on my iPod, or even SpongeBob stationary which may have been used for school.
2011, the current year, I'm still obsessed with the sponge which I have been for the past 5-6 years. I've seen the show in over 40 languages, mostly Spanish as I'm learning it. If it weren't for my devotation to SpongeBob, this site wouldn't even exist. I've met many other SpongeBob SuperFans over the years too, mainly online. It's cool to see other huge SpongeBob fans out there, too, kinda like an online fanclub, if only there was an actual real-life SpongeBob fanclub to hang out in. Can somebody set up something like that, please?

Can you believe it's been 5 years already? I certainly can't! I remember when I created this back in 2006, and it's grown so much since then. I was only expecting this website to last until around 2009, but now it's 2011 and still growing strong, thanks everybody for your support! Let's hope we can make it to 10 years!

First of all, there's a possibility that a new SpongeBob movie is in the works. Nothing has been confirmed by Paramount or Nickelodeon yet, but LA Times have reported on "another SpongeBob picture" being made.
Also, I've recently added updates to the website, including new videos on the "SpongeBob Videos" page, plus the recent episode specials on the "Episode Specials" page.
Stay tuned for more updates.

SpongeBob is slated to pass its 200th episode, Nickelodeon has recently ordered the series for a further 26 episodes. With Season 8 still yet to air, Season 9 is due to start sometime during 2012. This so far brings the total number of episodes to 204.
At least we now know the little spongy guy isn't going to leave our television anytime soon.

Hello all! As you may see, the Christmas theme is still up. Technically, it was supposed to have gone yesterday, but it's still winter over here, so I've decided to extend the Christmas theme to last until January 8th, when it will be converted back to the original SpongeVideos website.
|Posted on December 17, 2010 at 10:35 PM||comments (1)|
You've probably noticed our new Christmas theme. This is actually the first time in the website's 4-and-a-half year history that we've done this, and I'm proud to make this website a part of the season spirit.]
Don't forget - this is all temporary and the original SpongeVideos will be reverted back on December 27th.
Wait! I forgot something!.... What was it?
Oh yeah! Have a very merry Christmas!

It's called "Miranda Lovers", and it was just launched yesterday! It has not got much content on it, but I am working on adding new updates to this brand new website! If you're a fan of Miranda Cosgrove and iCarly, you'll love this!
I'm also considering the possibility of launching a "Phineas & Ferb" fansite, though this has not been confirmed, so keep on the lookout for any updates on the news.
But don't worry. SpongeVideos will still be regularly updated, as this is my flagship website, and I have no plans on cancelling it anytime soon.
